Scope:
The Second European Science Foundation Conference on Functional Dynamics is aimed at bringing together European scientists working on the area of "Functional Dynamics". This field is devoted to investigating dynamical behaviour that is associated with the function of a system, e. g. in biological or technological sense. Therefore, the meeting wishes to encourage the interaction between scientists working on biological, technical, chemical, and physical systems with those whose expertise lies on dynamical systems and nonlinear dynamics.
 

Conference format:
A series of key 5-6 lecutres will be accompanied by short lectures and posters. Ample time will be alocated for poster session and discussions.

Applications should be sent by e-mail to marcus.hauser[at]physik.uni-magdeburg.de. Attendance will be limited to 60-65 attendees.
Dead-line for applications: 15 July 2008
A notification of acceptance will be sent by 1 August 2008.
To apply for poster / oral contributions please include a short abstract of the contribution.
 

Fees:
Conference fees and accommodation (from 15 to 18 September) are covered by the European Science Foundation programme "Funcdyn". Support for travel expenses of up to 400 Euro will be provided by the ESF Funcdyn programme.
 

Venue and accommodation:
The Second ESF Conference on Functional Dynamics will take place at the "Wildbad" in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany. Participants will be lodged at the conference site in single or double rooms.

By plane:The closest airport is Nürnberg (Nuremberg); flights to Frankfurt (and to a lesser extent Munich and Stuttgart) may also be convenient.

via Nürnberg:: Take the subway at the airport (line U2) to the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof). There take a train to Rothenburg ob der Tauber (connections necessary at Ansbach and Steinach bei Rothenburg).
